Reishi Shiitake Maitake Mushroom Extract is a food supplement containing a combination of mushrooms; reishi, shiitake and maitake. Many varieties of mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. The majority of the products are available in the same forms as they occur in nature. Reishi Shiitake Maitake Mushroom Extract is a combination of Japanese mushrooms. This special formula contains 3 types of mushrooms from powder and powdered extract. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a type of fungus native to Asia, including China, Korea and Japan. Traditional Chinese medicine has used this mushroom for thousands of years due to them containing phytochemicals such as beta-glucans, plant sterols, polysaccharides and triterpenes. Shiitake (Lentinus edodes) is a popular food in Asia where it originates from. They are one of the most cultivated varieties of mushroom. Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is a mushroom native to the mountains of Japan. It can be translated from Japanese into dancing mushroom'. Similar as Reishi mushroom, they are a source of beta-glucans and polysaccharides.
